The Library Puzzle

The Library Puzzle A Hidden Door While collecting books in the Thaumaturgical Institute Library, Vivisari notices an overpowered door with an incomplete gravity design. A Casual Solution She completes the puzzle almost automatically, unaware that the door belongs to Osmian’s Door and has resisted every candidate except Archmage Lysander. A New Detour Saffra’s panic reveals the door’s legendary status. Vivi enters because the challenge is interesting, demonstrating her recurring tendency to follow curiosity even when the wiser choice would be to leave.

The Failed Ritual Trial

The Failed Ritual Trial A Trial of Expertise Osmian tests Vivisari’s spellcasting, enchanting, and ritualism. She passes flight and designs an effective orbital enchantment but lacks practical ritual experience. A Dangerous Sacrifice Her attempt to draw energy from the island’s collective plant life begins killing the vegetation. She aborts the ritual rather than let the test become an ecological disaster. A Better Failure Osmian rejects her as a successor but accepts her as a peer for conversation. Vivisari gains insight into ritualism while proving that judgment and restraint matter more than passing every examination.
